Hello!30+, white, bisexual, married. Lifetime fan of videogames, and my favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, and horror (particularly psychological horror). I've been playing XIV since January 2024.If you have any concerns about certain themes or elements of Amrine's character, please just ask me. I have been playing xiv since january 2024, I simply do not have enough art/writing posted publicly at this time.I don't tend to yap on socmed but I'm often online if I'm awake. skelosbadlands.bsky.socialNOT A ROLEPLAY ACCOUNT.
I love roleplay, I used to roleplay and I still love to write and draw and do collaborative projects. However, I'm not currently interested in RP, especially in-game or in DMs. You might get a moment here and there of me being in-character, but probably not whole scenes.

Personality
Amrine (pronounced am-rin) is a sweet individual, but is not known to be the most forthcoming person. She rarely feels the need to correct or confirm assumptions about her, unintentionally making it hard for others to know her deeply. Friends and acquaintances alike find that the secrets she usually holds close are rarely of any consequence. This sometimes causes people to not take her want for privacy seriously, or underestimate when she is actually struggling. Many who meet her are often surprised to discover that Amrine is an extremely young viera. With their long lifespans the first thought to come to mind, she often gets asked if she meant to say she is one hundred and thirty five. As a result, Amrine does not quite have the lived experiences or wisdom one would expect, and makes choices she likely wouldn't if she were fifty years older.
History
Amrine was born in the forested outskirts of Tailfeather, a small settlement in the Dravanian Forelands. Her mother was born and raised in Dalmasca as the daughter of a Golmore exile, and had travelled through the eastern nations and skirted the fringes of the Garlean Empire where she picked up and honed her skills as a Reaper. She met Amrine’s father in Yanxia, a travelling merchant-trader and Samurai. Her father caught up to her mother in Dravania in time for her birth and seven years later they had their second child together, a son named Sincere. Amrine’s father continued working as a trader-merchant, coming home for the fall and winter months of the year until his disappearance when she was eleven summers old. Despite not attending any formal schooling Amrine can read, write, and do math. Both of her parents have a background in trading with various cultures and countries, though Amrine admits her language skills would fall further under “jack of all trades, master of none” if it weren’t for the echo. She honed her botany skills at a young age, starting with foraging and later farming. She continues to use these skills through her adulthood, surviving the changes brought on by the calamity. She is, however, a terrible chef. She avoids cooking anything more complex than stews and soups, and often does not prepare meals beyond washing her foraged finds. Amrine is vegetarian, losing the taste for meats after having to go without so often in the aftermath of the calamity. Exploring the forests and ruins making up the Forelands, Amrine was familiar enough with the vath and especially the dragons. Unbeknownst to her that the echo is what allowed her to understand their conversations, she grew curious about them; the places they talked about, the lands they flew to beyond the mountains and clouds. Through listening and practice, Amrine can do dragonspeak. Dragons give mixed reactions to this. Her aether naturally is ever so slightly shifted in favor of wind. Amrine was not born with the family name of Windmere; she had a mononym, and came up with a last name when entering Eorzea. Her parents and brother still have mononyms. For the longest time Amrine had no idea that she had the echo. Those around her thought she was pretending to understand dragons, so she stopped talking about it. Her parents assumed that she picked up on languages naturally when foreign traders came through and she understood them. The migraine-inducing visions did not start until just before she left home, but these weren't clear in her mind until Amrine was in Gridania. The first echo memory that was clear was her looking at a giant blue crystal in a sea of stars. She doesn't remember the actual vision, just the memory of seeing the vision. It is a memory of seeing Hydaelyn before being born, though whos life or which life of hers it was...
Bonds
MINFILIA WARDE ㅤ . love . Amrine loved Minfilia. Amrine was quick to accept a place amongst the Scions, realizing Minfilia also had the echo and learning more about this power from her. A unique trust grew between them. They both could tell they loved one another, they both knew their feelings were mutual but Amrine respected Minfilia’s focus on her goal of protecting Eorzea. She made althe decision to tell Minfilia her feelings outright at the Banquet in Ul’Dah, to properly ask to be together. She never got that chance.
URIANGER AUGURELT ㅤ . confidant . Amrine found him awkward at first as most people do. After his role played in Minifila’s fate she’s so angry at him, even if she was content. In the first, she gains the full realization of his devotion, the harshest parts he plays and the high prices he willingly pays to do so. After some time and closure, Amrine does forgive and apologizes to Urianger.
THANCRED WATERS ㅤ . ally . Amrine picked up on his lone wolf schtick immediately and was comfortable leaving him be. She was the one who became awkward towards him when she realized she had feelings for Minfilia. In the first they both are gunbreakers and they do get into a “physical altercation” over their grief and regrets over Minfilia. They both loved her. They both miss her. It comes to pretty violent blows. Thancred's been a gunbreaker longer but his ammo is limited.; Amrine simply (and barely) outlasts him. After they've had it out they’re cool again.
MIDGARDSORMR ㅤ . confidant . Amrine had a religious experience meeting the Keeper of the Lake. Midgardsormr calls her Soon Ohl (Summer Crystal).
ZENOS YAE GALVUS ㅤ . enemy . Amrine hates him, mainly through what he represents; the garlean empire, and all it's wrought and being the prince, he's a promised continuation of destruction. She almost wanted to stay in her emotional stupor, dissociating, too mentally unavailable to consider that there could always be a bigger threat and he reminded her of that with such violence. Zenos made her realize she was giving up slowly and she hates that.
ZENOS VIATOR GALVUS ㅤ . ??? . Her feelings towards Zenos in the end are frustrating. This time he sees Amrine and she's reached new heights, and he is hungry to see and feel the difference. Zenos' reverence for her strengths makes her so angry when she realizes this reminds her of Minfilia, leaving her distraught at realizing how much she missed this feeling and terrified she is of accepting it.
MOTHER ㅤ . mother . Born in Dalmasca after her mother left the Golmore Jungle, she became a reaper after leaving home. Skirting around the borders of Garlean territory and learning from the lemures, helping exiles/deserters and killing imperial soldiers. She eventually ended up around Kugane, and that’s where she met the man who she would love and have two children with. With her bonded missing and children out of the home, she left as well to see her mother and sister in Dalmasca after so many decades apart
FATHER ㅤ . father . He earned gil trading and selling goods between Eorzea, Ala Mhigo, and Yangxia in the warmer months and would return home in autumns and winters. He brought home trinkets and gifts for his bonded and children every time. He doubled as a samurai to protect himself and his entourage, and to earn more money as a guard during slower parts of the year or when trade was made more difficult by the Empire. When Amrine was eleven and Sincere only four, he did not return home.
SINCERE ㅤ . brother . Amrine's only sibling. A lot like his sister, albeit a little less friendly and a little more talkative. They were close in childhood and are still close in adulthood, with Sincere occasionally helping out the Scions when he stops by to see Amrine and share any leads about their father's potential whereabouts. Following one of these leads takes Sincere to Kugane where he falls for a xaela man named Dei, who comes from a goldsmithing family.
CAELO ㅤ . son . Her only child. She was extremely young for a viera to become a parent when she did, this along with her role as warrior of light created unique hurdles that she struggled through. Amrine loves her son, but she is equally fearful of the potential in Caelo. Unbeknownst to all, Zenos should not have been able to get her pregnant but dynamis is a tricky thing.
TIDIRHA ㅤ . voidsent . When Amrine made the pact, a very strong voidsent came through. Drusilla chalked it up to normal fear, or maybe a word in another language... but Amrine, echo or not, knew what she said; This voidsent called her by her mother's name. Away from the lemures, Amrine and Tidirha cautiously questioned one another. Amrine finds out her mother was a reaper for a very long time, something she never knew. Tidirha remarks once that she was stronger with her mother, with Amrine later realizing that the pair were shards of one another. Tidirha tiptoes around the fate of Amrine's mother, until she tells the voidsent that she knows her mother is gone.
